Upstate, NY -
One of only several homes on a private estate on over 144,000 acres; here even the views were still on the property. With more native animals than people, the delicate order of nature was to be maintained.
In the heritage of New York’s great Adirondack camp style homes, the landscape around the home was constructed out of local green granite. A 3,000 sq. ft. terrace with 3 staircases were constructed among granite stones weighting 25 to 30 tons each, in a natural style rock garden off the house. Native fern, moss and low bush blueberry were transplanted to completely restore the original balance of nature as it was before the new home construction. Large, granite stones were installed as the base for the front entry porch support beams.
